I work as a System Consultant and got my fingers in everything from linux and windows based servers, HP DP backup, ad,exchange, vmware, citrix
and like everybody else, i can from time to time spend too much time searching for answers/solutions.
in my case, i got a serious bad memory, everything is flushed every night, and spending time and resources on investigating the exact same problem one solved last month
i had to create this blog – for my own usage.
im a pretty busy guy – which can be seen on the quality of my writings, i tend to just make a braindump and publish it since i lack the time to do a proper post.
feel free to comment every post if you think im wrong or got some enhancements.

Hi,
very helpful web site.
I came here, via google in search of a way to over come the warning message that aptitude gives when it can find the public key for repositories. I followed your suggestions all the way down to doing a remove -purge on the debian-archive-keyring!. It would not purge (??) so I did a remove only. Sweet. However i did not full grasp the consequences when (and ample warning was given) i removed dependants including apt-get apt synaptic and aptitude… humm.
Any suggestions would be VERY much appreciated. I’m using debian etch 4.0 and apt uses apt proxy thru my home server.
Thanks kindly, Peter.
